Brandon Carbon Mineralization

Mineralization
プロジェクト概要
The Brandon project applies the same Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) to capture and permanently store CO₂ in carbonated building materials. The project processes waste materials by reacting them with CO₂ to form a construction-grade aggregate, reducing emissions from both industrial waste streams and conventional building material production.
The process includes blending thermal residues, adding water, and exposing the mixture to a controlled concentration of CO₂ to accelerate carbonation. The end product stores 144 kg of CO₂ per tonne of aggregate. The facility operates at commercial scale, supporting regional demand for low-carbon construction materials.
Like other facilities in the portfolio, Brandon adheres to the Puro Standard General Rules and Carbonated Building Material Methodology. It contributes to the broader expansion of ACT infrastructure, with additional sites planned across the UK and internationally.
