プロジェクト概要
The South Jordan Landfill Gas Destruction Project captures and destroys methane generated at the Trans‑Jordan Landfill in South Jordan, Utah. The project uses a gas collection and control system made up of vertical and horizontal wells connected by underground piping to three generator engines. By collecting landfill gas and combusting it in these engines, the project prevents methane from being released to the atmosphere. An enclosed flare is installed to handle excess gas that is not consumed by the engines.
The project is located at the Trans‑Jordan Landfill in South Jordan. Trans‑Jordan Cities owns the landfill, Energy Developments Limited (EDL) owns and operates the energy facility and Anew Environmental, LLC is the registry account holder and project developer.
Operations are monitored continuously. Flow and methane concentration are measured with dedicated instrumentation and undergo regular third‑party calibration. The landfill is not considered a bioreactor under EPA definitions. These controls support consistent gas capture and destruction performance over time.
